Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of history as you step through our doors, with photographs on the walls bearing the memories of a bygone era. From the men who worked in the mines to the World Pipe Band Championship celebration in 1948, right outside this very building.

We pay homage to the legend of our namesake, Bertram de Shotts - a giant highwayman who roamed these streets, through our Private Dining room, The Bertram Suite.

Our Station Hotel stands as a testament to the passage of time and innovation, and within its walls, you'll discover the warm embrace of Scottish hospitality, now more important than ever.

Our Story

Community is Everything.

Illustration of two arms hugging a heart

Historically, this building was home for passing nomads. Today, we are focusing on building our local community here in Shotts. All of our employees are locals, and the business has been under the same ownership for over 20 years now. Everyone knows everyone - and if you are a stranger, you will be so once.

We know how difficult things can be with the cost of living crisis, which is why we are making an effort to make The Station Hotel as financially accessible as we can.

During the summer holidays, kids under 10 can eat for free at our restaurant. And if you want to do something special for an event, we have facilities hosting up to 140 people - free of venue fees.

There are so many incredible people in this town, working out of the goodness of their hearts to help Shotts thrive. This is why we have started 'Community Heroes' - a monthly spotlight for local individuals whose work is absolutely invaluable to the town.

Tracey & Gerry run the Shotts based charity Paul's Parcels and have been fighting to help prevent food insecurity and poverty for years now. They have supported several people and families by providing nourishing food to those who need it.

Doing this completely out of the goodness of their hearts, we are so grateful to have such amazing and inspiring people in this community.
